The Plan: To challenge up to 100 people in our congregation to read through the entire Bible in 90 days! There is a wonderful program called The Bible in 90 Days that we will be using in the months of February, March & April to accomplish this important spiritual experience. But if you are starting late - you can go through May and this still is an amazing accomplishment - contact us!
The Approach: You read 12 pages of the Bible a day beginning with Genesis and ending in Revelation. That will take some commitment and dedication but it is something that so many people dream about accomplishing – reading through the entire Bible. Now realize, this is not a study of the Bible but it is a thorough read-through of the Bible. There is so much value to just reading the Bible in this short amount of time from cover to cover. You get a sense for the overall story of the Bible, the big themes and a very important overview. And we have built in a “Reading Catch Up Week” April 2-8 (Holy Week) if you get behind.
The Materials: This program from Zondervan has a 90-Days Bible ($15) that you can use which has the daily sections marked out or you can use your own Bible with a bookmark we will print at the church with the daily sections to read that you can check off. The other resource is a The Essential Bible Companion ($15) which is a wonderful color guide which gives you a two-page summary of each book of the Bible so you can quickly get an overview to the Bible book you are reading currently. You can order either of these at the sign up table beginning in January!
Go Deeper: We will also offer a weekly group that you can attend at church to watch a 20-minute DVD teaching session that covers the sections of the Bible you read that week so you can get a better understanding of the material you read with great discussion after we watch the DVD. We will offer this class twice during the week – 9:30am on Sunday morning led by Pastor Brian (begins Jan. 29) and 6:30pm on Wednesday night led by Bobbie Jo Misch (begins Jan. 26.)
How do I sign up?: A display table will be set up in the Overflow Room outside the sanctuary beginning January 8 for you to sign up for the program. At the time you can also check a box for which resources you want to help you with this 90 Day program (90 Day Bible, The Essential Bible Companion, 90 Day Bookmark.) You also can sign up at this time for which DVD discussion group you’d like to attend (Sunday morning or Wednesday night.) The discussion group is important but it is optional – you can decide. The most important goal is to have you read through the entire Bible in 90 days.
