Carl has served as pastor at Fruitland Covenant Church since November 2014. Carl is passionate about seeing people grow to love Jesus more and be more like Jesus each and every day. Carl has been married to his wonderful wife, Christine, since 1997 and together they have 5 children who keep them very busy.
Carl enjoys distance running. He has run a number of marathons and two ultras (50 miles) and is currently training for the Black Hills Ultra with Team World Vision to help find sponsors for children in Congo; you can learn more about this by clicking here.
In addition to being a Bible nerd, Carl is also a bit of a Star Wars nerd. He tries not to make too many Star Wars illustrations in his sermons. He is always willing to talk about Star Wars as long as it's positive.
Carl spent nearly 6 years in the Army as an Infantry Officer before obtaining a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Carl also has a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell. His dissertation studied the relationship between media and our ability to pay attention to God's voice.
